Earthquake of magnitude 6.5 was recorded in Guatemala and Mexico

This Sunday, several landslides were recorded on the road between Quetzaltenango and Retalhuleu due to the strong earthquake of magnitude 6.5 in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the department of San Marcos, in southwestern Guatemala, bordering Mexico.
The magnitude 6.5 earthquake recorded at 5:39am (local time) this Sunday was felt in several departments of the country, according to the National Coordinator for Disaster Reduction (CONRED), caused landslides on different roads such as in Quetzaltenango, according to citizen reports.
In Mexico, the National Seismological Service reported a magnitude 6.2 earthquake at 5:39am with an epicenter 76 kilometers southwest of Ciudad Hidalgo, Chiapas.
