The coordinator of the Office of Citizen Coexistence of the Libertador municipality of Caracas, Ronald Villegas, reported that the circulation of private vehicles is prohibited through the channels intended for BusCaracas and Metrobús, located in El Cementerio, La Bandera and Fuerzas Armadas Avenue, as it causes delays and other inconveniences to the movement of units.
For his part, the Caracas Police officer, Luis Quijada, confirmed that he was previously authorized to use public transport channels, however, he commented that “now this generates an administrative sanction that imposes 30 times the highest value currency fixed in the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV),” Venezolana de Televisión reported.
In this context, the municipal authorities recalled the prohibition of parking in areas adjacent to the BusCaracas canals, which, according to Article 19 of the Ordinance on Citizen Coexistence, involves a fine of 30 euros for those who travel through nearby pedestrian crossings, as stated by Quijada.
Previously, these routes to search for Caracas and Metrobús were also intended for vehicles in emergency situations, such as ambulances or police units, which is currently prohibited.
Persons who engage in one of the above-mentioned behaviors, and who cannot cancel the sanction, must carry out community work established in this Ordinance, without prejudice to the application of what is established in other regulations.
