Douglas Rico on Marketplace: It's used by criminal groups

The director of the Criminal and Criminal Scientific Investigations Corps (CICPC), C/G Douglas Rico, called on the community to avoid using the Marketplace platform on Facebook for the purchase of vehicles and any other type of property.

Through a video released on his X account, Rico highlighted that this platform is used by criminal groups, which offer vehicles at prices well below the market, to capture the unwary and steal or kidnap them.

“When people come to see the vehicles they are kidnapped and robbed of their money and in many cases they ask their families for money for the release of people who are kidnapped,” said the police chief.
