Director of CONATEL: Internet consumption in the country has grown 246% in seven years

The Sectorial Vice President of Public Works and Services, MG. Jorge Márquez highlighted the success of the Second International Technology Fair held in Caracas, which brought together companies in the telecommunications sector with the objective of promoting innovation in the area of information and communication, as well as generating market and business opportunities.

He emphasized that these spaces 150 national and international companies, including manufacturers, suppliers and operators of technological equipment, participated in the fair, which included representatives from Colombia, Argentina, Panama, the United States, China and Brazil.

He added that during the four days of the fair, more than 40 talks and training forums were held, which addressed topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the expansion of 5G, among others.

Certified courses and master classes were also offered to update the knowledge and skills of professionals in the sector.

FITELVEN 2024 focused on creating alliances, financial growth, sustainability and social inclusion,” said Márquez during his participation in the Con Maduro+ program, where he specified that in recent years, internet consumption has grown by 246%.

“We went to 11.1 TB, higher than seven years ago when we consumed an average of 600 Gigabytes, this is an exponential growth, reflecting the use of the internet in Venezuela where there are 270 companies providing this service,” said the national director of telecommunications as well.

For his part, President Nicolás Maduro assured that the telecommunications sector is growing, expanding and consolidating itself as a source of the Venezuelan economy.
