Director of CONATEL: In Venezuela, Internet consumption has increased in all social classes

The sector vice-president for Works and Services, M/G Jorge Eliecer Márquez, during the opening to the public of the second edition of the International Telecommunications Fair in Venezuela (FITELVEN), at the Caracas Polyhedron, stressed that this exhibition will make available to visitors the latest advances in technology and innovations.

In a space of 2,174 square meters prepared for the meeting of producers, creators and business space with a total of 150 stands displayed for exhibition and brand experiences of companies in the communication and technology sector.

The director of the Venezuelan National Telecommunications Commission (CONATEL) also pointed out that the telecommunications sector has been growing steadily to the point of having a domestic consumption of 11.6 terabytes as part of a program that has allowed all social classes and ages to enjoy the Internet.

He stressed that Venezuela is a market where public and private sectors, and national and international capital compete. He also announced that he will present 5G technology as a point of account to the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, which will allow a greater expansion of communication services for consumers.
