“We (Venezuela) don't want to invade anyone. We are firm in the defense of our rights, territorial integrity and our sovereignty, that is historic but we have never been out to invade anyone.”

This was emphasized from the Federal Legislative Palace by the first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, in an interview with the 360 program broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV).

The also deputy and head of the Domestic Policy Committee of the National Assembly, dismissed the warmongering accusations of Guyanese President Irfaan Ali, while criticizing the decision of the President of the neighboring country to request the support of the United States Southern Command.

“However, the president of Guyana, Irfaaa Ali, is inviting his friends from the Southern Command (...) That's a shame, the position of someone who is Head of State and takes on the task of defending imperialism and transnational corporations. You're a slave to slaves!” , he ruled.

He added that “Guyana is not to blame for anything, historically those who work there for the interests of imperialism and oil transnational corporations are the ones who govern the people have nothing to do with it,” he said.

Sending a message to the Guyanese people, he stressed that “we are not your enemies (..) the worst enemies of Guyana are those who govern it”.
