The general secretary of the United Socialist
Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, highlighted the progress
that has been made with the Community Councils in the country, reaffirming that the Popular
Consultation is not meant to impose the projects of mayors and governorates.
“How has
progress been made in this (...) When the first Community Councils, well, that was
a fight with the established power, with the mayors, including the governorates, not right now, right now the mayors and the
governors get on the projects of the Communes and help them, and they help
them, as they should be,” he said.
In this regard, he reiterated that projects are not imposed
in the Consultation, because they “come out of the discussion of
the assemblies, the Community Councils, the Communes and they propose; but
when they need additional support, there are the governors and mayors”.
Regarding the Consultation, he reaffirmed that there is a great national deployment with a great national campaign for everyone in the national territory to join this democratic process.
