Diosdado Cabello: The Machados have been one of the most corrupt families in the Fourth Republic

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, came to the defense of the military family of the Nation in the face of the accusations of Sayo, who, although coming from one of the families most linked to corruption during the Fourth Republic, attacks the men and women of this military institution.

“There is no one more corrupt in this country than the Machado family, who benefited from a decree that prohibited anyone from collecting or keeping scrap from Venezuela at home because it was the property of the Machado family,” he recalled.

He also recalled that this family, which held a monopoly on scrap metal in Venezuela, was based in the main cities of the country, managing to constitute an empire with the help of the governments of Democratic Action and Copei.
