Diosdado Cabello, during his Con El Mazo Dando program, assured that the representatives of the oligarchy who live political life in the opposition are heirs of those who, from their superiority complex, have governed the country since colonial times.

“The subject of surnames is not Mendoza or Machado because in Furrial or Guatire there are people with the surname Machado, the problem is what they think, they assume, that they are superior, not of the people, it is people who believe that they were put here to be owners of everything else and subject us to what they say,” he reiterated.

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) argued that these oligarchy families have dominated the country's economic, social and political scene since colonial times and refuse to recognize that they have been displaced by the people through the Bolivarian Revolution.
