The president of the Permanent Committee on Internal Policy of the National Assembly (AN), deputy Diosdado Cabello Rondón, stressed that the Venezuelan State must punish any attitude or any act of discrimination.
In this regard, he recalled how years ago the Chavistas who went to some space in eastern Caracas, “would pot it up, when it was cheap”, if the person was or is black-skinned, they denied him access to the place.
“What do those who act that way think? That's where the State has to work and it has to severely punish any deviation or any attitude of that nature,” he said.
This was stated by Cabello during his speech at the Federal Legislative Palace, on the occasion of the first discussion of the Bill against Fascism, Neofascism and Similar Expressions, previously presented to the Plenary, by the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
In this regard, he emphasized that the extreme right has belittled the opposition sector that lives in the National Assembly . “I'm not going to defend the opposition sector that is there (in the Chamber), they know that I don't defend them, but how much derision have you subjected them to, just for not continuing to accompany the violence?” , he noted.
“To them and their families, or am I lying? We have already passed by, ladies and gentlemen, because we have been persecuted while in power, exercising power. Now, if you imagine them exercising power, which they wouldn't do with this country, we experienced it in April 2002,” he said.
He also stressed that the aforementioned law complements the Anti-Hate Act and other laws that are necessary for politics in Venezuela to “be a healthy policy.”
