During the press conference of the National Directorate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) held this Monday, the organization's general secretary, Diosdado Cabello Rondón, reflected on the process of talks in the country and recalled that attempts at dialogue have existed since the coup d'etat in 2002, recalling the words of Commander Hugo Chávez about consultation and permanent popular participation in the streets.
Cabello said that “that real dialogue is based on compliance with the agreements, the word”. He also questioned the historical behavior of the extreme right sectors, pointing out that “we have sat down on several occasions with opposition sectors and they break agreements, and they end up fractured.”
Regarding the current working table, which has three sessions to date, the leader valued that the judicial reform promoted by President Delcy Rodríguez before the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) should be addressed. On this point, he expressed his satisfaction, noting that “we are grateful that this topic is being developed at the dialogue table because it was one of our proposals”.
He also pointed out that the agenda prioritizes two other fundamental axes for the nation: the recovery of the Venezuelan State's assets abroad and timely attention to the population affected by the recent seismic event.
