The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, assured that all the agreements signed by the opposition with the government under the intermediation of friendly foreign governments have been systematically violated by the extremist right leadership.

“One of the things that was signed based on the document of August 13, 2021 in Mexico and endorsed on 17 2023 in Barbados: the defense of Venezuela's rights over Guiana Essequiba and the Geneva Agreement of 1966 was ratified as a method of resolution, that is, all of us who signed that document had to act when it came to having to defend the Essequibo is a commitment, but opposition sectors did not defend the Essequibo and some they called for a no vote and failed to give statements to favor the position of the Guyanese government,” he denounced.

He pointed out that these opponents changed the positions they held in 2018 on the International Court of Justice and now support their jurisdiction violating the agreement signed with the national Government.
