The general secretary of the United Socialist Party of
Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello Rondón, confirmed this Monday that fascism
must be combated, as the Bolivarian Revolution has done on every battle front, now on the way to regional and
legislative elections on May 25.
During the usual weekly press conference with the
red awning, Cabello stressed that the Venezuelan people are “obliged to remember”, recalling that
the faces of fascism in Venezuela are the same ones that have
attacked the revolutionary process since Commander Hugo Chávez came to power with the people.
“Check the faces of those who were in the
Miraflores Palace, check the faces of those who openly participated in the coup
d'etat, in the oil strike, check the faces who they are. Those have
come and gone (...) What Bolívar said is fulfilled: 'Every conspiracy comes a
pardon and with every new forgiveness a new conspiracy'”, he recalled.
Looking ahead to the upcoming elections, the senior leader of the PSUV
pointed out that the revolutionary forces already have their unitary candidates for all governorates.
“That's what we can do, let's not expect anything from
them (the extreme opposition right). Fascism can't be cured
overnight. Fascism must be combated. And I think that so far fascism
has zero points and peace and quiet have 10. We haven't won, but
we're beating fascism,” he emphasized.
