Diosdado Cabello: “Cafecito” Martínez deserved the most valuable in a long time

“Carlos' Café 'Martínez was a player who became a legend, he had great talent (...) His son 'Cafecito' Martínez has just won the title of most valuable player in the Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP), a recognition he deserved a long time ago.”

This was considered by Diosdado Cabello, who added that when the player was interviewed, he said he was extremely excited.

“When Cafecito was starting to play, the journalists told him, aren't you going to do like your dad, are you? Well, because his dad went through problems (...) like many,” he said.

The first vice-president of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) recalled that he met “Café” Martínez through Commander Hugo Chávez, with whom he was a friend and attended the academy for sports practices.
