This Monday, August 26, the President of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel, confirmed the importance of the unity and firmness of the Peoples in Revolution and more so in these times, when imperialism insists on undermining the sovereignty of free nations.

“Unity is the basic and essence of peoples in Revolution (...) These are times of unity and firmness in the face of imperialism, which threaten popular triumph and hinder social development policies,” said Díaz-Canel, expressing solidarity with Venezuela for the constant attacks of imperialism and its lackeys after the elections of July 28.

In this regard, during his speech at the XI Extraordinary Summit of Heads of State and Governments of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), he reiterated his congratulations to President Nicolás Maduro for the electoral victory and affirmed that once again the new attack against Venezuela calls for conscience and solidarity.

In turn, he mentioned the result of the electoral dispute carried out by the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) and assured that the verdict issued is not subject to appeal.

We are aware of the great danger faced by the unitary project. Our America must support Venezuela in its libertarian campaigns and that today it is facing a campaign of discrediting in the face of coups d'etat,” he said and denounced the harassment of imperialism and oligarchies to destabilize and try to overthrow the legitimate government of President Nicolás Maduro.

He pointed out that Cuba rejects the violence and the profound damage done to the Venezuelan economy by imperialism and its lackeys. “This is not the first time that oligarchies and imperialism show rejection of the will of our Peoples (...) We trust in the civic-military strength of the Venezuelan People,” he said.

He reaffirmed that “no imperial force will make us retreat from maintaining peace in the region, a vital cause to which we will strive” and for this reason they will continue to condemn actions such as the coup d'etat that they tried to carry out in Bolivia and now with Venezuela.
