After a new round of dialogue was held between representatives of the political parties and voter movements that participated in the presidential election of July 28, convened by the National Assembly (AN), the proposal for the creation of the Law for the Defense of Political Sovereignty and National Self-Determination emerged.
This was reported by the President of the Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, from the Federal Legislative Palace, while explaining that he “protects and protects the rights of Venezuelans over the defense of their territory, their sovereignty, their culture and their peaceful life.”
“It's a proposal that emerges from the constitutional table to be consulted, worked on, addressed by parties, community councils, cultural groups, universities,” Rodríguez said in statements to the press.
He also noted that the Legislative Commission, chaired by Deputy Luis Eduardo Martínez, “has made a comprehensive, profound development of all the legal instruments available to our legislation to guide electoral events and forms of political participation.”
He stressed that these are four organic laws: the Organic Law of the Electoral Power, the Organic Law on Electoral Processes, the Organic Law of the Supreme Court of Justice and the Protection Act on Constitutional Rights and Guarantees, “because the right to vote is a constitutional right,” he said.
