Despite the 3-D results! María Corina Machado insists that Venezuela must go to the ICJ

Despite the fact that the Venezuelan government has firmly ignored the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice to decide on the territorial dispute over the Essequibo, the extreme right-wing María Corina Machado insisted on ensuring that our country must play the game of Guyana and attend the ICJ to address this issue; in contradiction to the provisions of the Geneva Agreement.

At a press conference held this Wednesday, the opposition insisted that “Venezuela has high-level jurists to go to the ICJ”, ignoring that this instance is not impartial and going to it could mean that a decision is taken to the detriment of our sacred territory.

“We have no other option but to go to the International Court of Justice, where this controversy is being resolved today and where we have, we are obliged to defend our rights,” he said irresponsibly.

On the other hand, he accused the Government of maintaining “warmongering rhetoric” with regard to the issue of Guyana to “get off the electoral route”, ignoring that it is the government of Irfaan Ali that constantly threatens our country with “calling” the Southern Command, ignoring the constant calls of the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, for dialogue to resolve peacefully this situation that puts more than 159 thousand kilometers of the national territory at risk.
