As part of the work to recover and strengthen the National Electricity System (SEN), the Bolivarian Government is promoting a plan to diversify and incorporate new energy sources to strengthen the country's energy matrix and face the challenges of climate change, said the Deputy Minister of Electric Energy, Tania Masea.
During an interview with Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), she highlighted the use of local energy resources according to the geographical and climatic conditions of each region.
In this regard, he explained that progress is being made in the diversification of wind and solar projects, such as the wind farm in the state of Falcón, wind power installations have been recovered, which already have 39 wind turbines in constant energy production.
He specified that equipment is being maintained in the test phase that will soon be integrated into the system in the Paraguaná Peninsula.
He also mentioned the Solar Parks, of which the operation of the Solar Park in El Vigía stood out, as well as the development of the solar project in Machango, Zulia state, previously announced for launch next year.
In the case of the state of Zulia, he pointed out that the use of the sun, wind and hydrocarbons is more suitable for electricity generation than hydroelectricity, given the local water conditions.
The minister stressed that with this integration of clean and alternative energies, the Venezuelan State reaffirms its commitment to diversification, sustainable development and the continuous strengthening of the national electricity service.
