The Deputy Minister for Europe, of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Coromoto Godoy, questioned the statements of David Rutley, Undersecretary of State of the United Kingdom Parliament for the Americas and the Caribbean.
Through her account on the social network X, the diplomat questioned Rutley's authority to interfere in Venezuela's internal affairs.
“With what authority do you speak, if your country has historically been characterized by acts of piracy, as demonstrated by the treacherous theft of Venezuelan gold deposited in the Bank of London, a sign of English rapine, which has sown the world with misery, pain and destruction,” he wrote.
He also regretted that the authorities of the United Kingdom support “criminals, involved in assassination attempts and calls for invasion, always allied to the oligarchs who sell their homeland to keep the riches of neocolonial exploitation”.
Finally, Godoy accused the Undersecretary of being “a faithful exponent of the old and decadent British empire, defender of murderers and thieves. They don't understand that the world is no longer their former overseas possessions.”
