Deputy Cabello presented to the AN the draft Organic Law for the Defense of Guiana Essequiba

This Wednesday, December 6, the head of the faction for the Fatherland Bloc, deputy Diosdado Cabello, during the extraordinary session of the National Assembly (AN), presented the draft Organic Law for the Defense of Guiana Esequiba.

Cabello explained that the purpose of this law is to ensure the sovereignty and integrity of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and is composed of 22 articles, distributed in four chapters. “It is an organic law and then special laws will be created; complementary for its integral development.”

He also explained that the first chapter is intended to regulate fundamental provisions, highlighting the declaration of the irrite nature of the Arbitral Award of 1899, as well as the ratification of Venezuela's historic position on the jurisdiction of the International Court of Justice.

The second chapter is related to the creation of the Guayana Esequiba state, including the regulation of the exercise of public power in that territorial political entity, “of course this is now being debated”.

The third chapter develops a set of specific actions for the protection of the territory of Guiana Essequiba. These measures highlight the regulation of the use of the political map of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the declaration of the nation's historical document and fundamental resources of best interest to the State of all information that has a direct or indirect relationship with the territory of Guiana Esequiba.

Meanwhile, the fourth chapter contains four transitional provisions, which establish a temporary regime for the exercise of Public Power, until a practical and mutually acceptable solution is reached with the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, regarding the territorial dispute and electoral processes can be carried out and in the territory in the territory of Guiana Essequiba.
