The deputy to the National Assembly (AN) and member of the dialogue table, Jorge Arreaza, highlighted this Friday the progress of the dialogue between the National Government and former deputies in 2015, as well as the reform of the Constitutional Law against Hate, for Peaceful Coexistence and Tolerance.
During his participation in the radio program Entre Comunes, which broadcasts Radio Negro Primero 101.1 FM, Arreaza said that “we hope that dialogue will continue to give us spaces for peace, for encounter. The dialogue will continue to bear fruit.”
On the reform of the Anti-Hate Act, requested by President Delcy Rodríguez, the parliamentarian considered that the debate will focus on penalties and sanctions. “I agree that some things in this law need to be decriminalized,” he said. He reiterated that some bodies misapplied the rule and called on political actors and the population to protect the political moment.
Among the results of the dialogue with the opposition, Arreaza highlighted the process for the election of the 32 judges of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), which will include 12 citizens of civil society and an international committee to evaluate the candidates. “Through the table, belligerence is given to the opposition to be part of all these processes,” he said.
