The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, warned this Tuesday of a proportional response to Guyana to the recent statements of President Irfaan Ali regarding his ignorance of the Geneva Agreement of 1966 as the only mechanism for peacefully resolving the territorial dispute over Guiana Essequiba.

“A confession on the part, test relief! The President of Guyana with total self-confidence recognizes: 1. That it violates and openly disregards Guyana's obligations under the Geneva Agreement of 1966/ 2. That it unilaterally has a sea to be delimited and grants concessional guarantees to transnational energy companies in violation of international law,” Rodríguez criticized in reference to Ali's statement on Bloomberg TV, where he indicated that his borders were established in the 1899 arbitration award.

In this regard, the Executive Vice President emphasized that “Venezuela does not and will not recognize the fraudulent limits of the dispossession award. And he will never give up defending his rights. Our response will be commensurate with the gross violations of Guyana and its imperial masters,” he said.
