Delcy Rodríguez to the extreme right: Let's stop using politics as a show

The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, demanded that the different partisan factors in the country stop using politics as a “show” to meet personal aspirations.

“I think that politics should really stop with a show, because politics is something very serious. Why is politics a very serious thing? Because it has to do with the lives of citizens, because any decision we make affects the life of a population, because any public that we design based on knowledge, expertise, has to do with the impact it will have on the population as a whole,” said the president in reference to the recent arrival of María Corina Machado in the country.

In this regard, he stressed that Machado could have avoided the “show” and used regular migratory mechanisms, while stressing that the ultra-right leader must take responsibility for her acts and actions against State institutions.

“The show could have been avoided, there are the airports, there are some transitory structures that people, as I said, have very good comments on. So let's get away from the show and focus on making politics something very serious,” he emphasized.

In addition, the Head of State, when asked about Machado's possible participation in the dialogue process, pointed out that it is very serious and requires extensive knowledge to carry them out.

“The process of dialogue that is taking place in Venezuela is something very serious. I say that it is something that requires a lot of experience away from neophyte spaces. Venezuela requires a lot of knowledge to overcome problems. I recently received at the Miraflores Palace the representative of the 2015 Assembly, Dinora Figuera, and Dr. Jorge Rodríguez, president of the Parliament, who have already had three sessions, three days of dialogue and seeks to hold a constructive dialogue. What is this dialogue in the year 2015 looking for? Well, it seeks political reforms, justice reforms, but it also seeks post-remote support so that Venezuela can recover the gold. It is essential that Venezuela can fully recover its assets abroad, its financial resources to put them at the service of national development,” said the President.
