The President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stressed that the second of the regulations presented after the completion of the first phase of the Women's Table for Peace and Democratic Coexistence, is directly aimed at the care, protection and dignity of grandparents through the Law for Adults and Older Adults.

“We have a special commitment to our older adults. The government team knows perfectly well that the instruction is to provide maximum comprehensive care to this sector, which has been one of the hardest hit by the impact of sanctions and the economic blockade,” Rodríguez said during his speech

As part of the immediate actions resulting from the signing of these regulations, the National President announced the activation of a direct approach plan in residential areas and urban areas, in conjunction with condominium councils.

“We are going to go to the condominiums because with the work we are doing after the earthquake to recover housing, we have found many grandparents, who are completely alone in the buildings, people in their 70s, 80s and 90s and I have asked that a health team come to visit him, attend to him and raise his needs,” explained the Head of State.

He also emphasized that any socio-economic progress that Venezuela has must go hand in hand with our grandparents and grandmothers.

To guarantee the success of this territorial deployment, the Venezuelan State will join forces with humanitarian assistance organizations, in this regard, Rodríguez expressed his gratitude to the president of the Venezuelan Red Cross, Luis Farías, who formally delivered an institutional support plan.
