After supervising the organization of Popular Power in the parish of La Pastora in Caracas, the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, stated that in “Venezuela representative democracy was buried forever, that form of elitist democracy will not return to our institutions.”
In that regard, he emphasized that today in Venezuela is more alive than ever “the democracy of the People, the democracy that goes to an assembly and that discusses its problems, the democracy of the community that says it is needed and where budgetary resources should be directed, is the democracy of the People's Power, which is known to be political power in Venezuela.”
He reaffirmed that this participatory and leading democracy is part of the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez, which has been consolidated by President Nicolás Maduro.
“That is why we are very happy to have the elections for the communal projects of the communal circuits that exist throughout the country, because we know that it is direct democracy, the democracy of those who know what is happening in their community, the direct democracy of the citizen and the citizen,” he said.
On the other hand, he referred to his meeting with the architect Riken Yamamoto and noted that together they reviewed several projects requested by President Nicolás Maduro for the city of Caracas.
“ Surprises will come in this direction, so this is the Venezuela that builds, it is the Venezuela that does not allow itself to be threatened and it is the Venezuela that is building a great future and is marking a path for a Venezuelan power,” he emphasized.
