The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, led this Friday the deployment of Operation Venezuela Eats Fish, from Bolívar Avenue in Caracas, as part of the development of Holy Week 2024.

Accompanied by the Minister of Popular Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, and the mayor of the Libertador municipality, Carmen Meléndez, the Vice President expressed her joy that the Bolivarian Government guarantees “seafood for our people at this fair held today in 15 states of the country, which will be active from February 2 to April 30”.

He said that 4,700 tons of fish will be distributed, “to serve one and a half million families,” while stating that in the Capital District, “very fresh products for the enjoyment of all Venezuelans” are distributed in all its parishes.

For his part, Minister Loyo pointed out that for two years this sector has been increasing in fishing, with capture and aquaculture. He stressed that the year 2023 ended with record figures that materialized in 25% of everything that fishing represents, and 20% in aquaculture production.

“Today, with this component, we are under orders from the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, and as he said: “it's not just growing, but that the people have access to this distribution,” and Vice President Rodríguez, for two years, has been monitoring these fairs called Operation Venezuela Eat Fish,” Venezolana de Televisión (VTV) quoted on her website.
