At a press conference from the Miraflores Palace, this Monday, the Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, held ExxonMobil responsible for any harm against the country's authorities, after presenting evidence from the lobby of the American oil company to revoke Chevron's license.

“I responsibly denounce that, if something happens to any high authority in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, I hold ExxonMobil directly responsible for its plans against Venezuela,” Rodríguez stressed.

He recalled that ExxonMobil arrived in Venezuela in 1920 to drill for oil in Lake Maracaibo. “And it was in 2006, with the real nationalization carried out by Commander Hugo Chávez, where a scheme of operating joint ventures was carried out, that ExxonMobil left Venezuela, but it was not happy.”

In this regard, he said that the US transnational corporation “began to hate Venezuela and said: 'I'm going for revenge against Venezuela. ' And he perversely thought that revenge against Venezuela was to go and exploit Venezuela's natural resources in the Essequibo territory,” he criticized.
