Delcy Rodríguez: Being president of the AN Constituent Assembly was a challenge that I would never have imagined

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, specified that “I didn't expect to be president of the National Constituent Assembly (...) It was a challenge that I would never have imagined in my life. It was an unforgettable experience and I didn't expect it.”

In conversation with the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro in a new episode of the Maduro Podcast, Rodríguez recalled how the decision to call for the election of a National Constituent Assembly was right and timely.

“You knew that the wisdom of the people would prevent a process of civil war from taking place here. It is impressive how the day after the election of the members of the National Constituent Assembly we woke up without violence in Venezuela, without outbreaks of violence after the result (...) that gave all Venezuelans great peace of mind and joy,” he said.

For her part, the first combatant, Cilia Flores added that “Venezuela has a people of peace and this people have always wanted peace. The guarimbas are the worst thing that has happened to us and that is why the people's repudiation and immediate response to the president's call to go out and vote and to guarantee peace.”
