The president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, spoke this Monday at the World Food Forum 2026 of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Rome, where she highlighted the nation's advances in social protection and inclusion through programs that serve more than 5 million families and 2.5 million children.
Addressing the strategy to eradicate food insecurity and meet the goal of Zero Hunger for the year 2030, the president said that “Venezuela does not come to Rome just to explain how far it has come, we also come to share how we intend to close the remaining gap and make decisive progress.”
“We want to convert part of our energy income into permanent productive capacity; energy wealth can and must become a lever to guarantee agricultural production,” the dignitary confirmed, defending the model of regenerative agriculture and the preservation of soils against excessive extractivism.
Rodríguez also stressed that agri-food transformation requires truly inclusive multilateralism, capable of accompanying the sovereign development of the peoples of the Global South without external conditioning or interference.
