Daniel Vanososte and María Tablantes won silver medals for Venezuela in South American Golf

The Venezuelan team that participated in the South America Golf Championship, held in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay, concluded with honor when they fought against teams from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru and the host.

The representatives won two silver medals, one in individual gentlemen thanks to the performance of Daniel Vanososte, who closed with rounds of 69/77/68/78, and the other in mixed teams with the duo of Vanososte and María Mercedes Tablantes.

The tournament took place from March 20 to 23 and in the final, the Colombian teams, in men's and Peru, in women, won the titles of the South American Youth Championship, an event that ended at a high level at the Uruguay Golf Club, in Montevideo.

The exciting final was also complemented by a tie in third place, which was claimed by Argentina's Malena Castro, beating Chile's Constanza Figueroa, local Carolina Mailhos and Peru's Tuesta, all finishing with a total of 300 strokes (+8), the organizers' website reported.

In the mixed team standings, Colombians Velásquez and Valero, members of the #1 team, were the winners with 589 strokes (+5), followed by Venezuelans Vanososte and Tablantes with + 9.
