This Friday, the Government of Cuba reported that Havana was connected to the National Electricity System while the country intensifies recovery in the western provinces affected by the meteorological phenomenon.

Cuba is making progress in restoring basic services after the onslaught of Hurricane Rafael, which hit winds of up to 185 kilometers per hour and left significant damage to electrical infrastructure, housing and the agricultural sector.

This Friday, the national authorities convened early in the morning at a meeting of the National Defense Council to evaluate the actions taken and evaluate the steps to be taken.

Meanwhile, the National Energy System has succeeded in reconnecting Havana to Guantánamo, marking a milestone in recovery efforts.

Engineer Lázaro Guerra Hernández, director of electricity at the Ministry of Energy and Mines, reported in the issue of the Buenos Días Information Magazine that the restoration of energy in the west of the island is a crucial step towards normalization.
