The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, denounced that the blockade imposed by the United States Government on the Antillean nation has caused material damage and damage in the order of 5,056 million dollars from March 1, 2023 to February 29 of this year.

“From March 1, 2023 to February 29 of this year, the blockade caused material damage and damage to Cuba in the order of 5.56 billion dollars, which represents an increase of almost 200 million dollars compared to the previous period and with an extraordinary weight in an economy of small dimensions such as ours,” said Rodríguez Parrilla.

In this regard, he explained that the Caribbean country loses 421 million dollars per month due to the intensification of White House sanctions, while stressing that “the cumulative damages of the blockade over these six decades amount to an astronomical figure of 164,141 million dollars.”
