After a failure occurred in the last electrical substation that led to the fall of the Cuban Electroenergy System (SEN), the Havana Electric Company reported on Sunday that the transmission and subtransmission circuits were restored to 100% along with those for primary distribution in the capital.
It was also announced that they managed to maintain the electricity supply to hospitals, as well as to water supply plants, thus guaranteeing essential services for the population of the province of Havana.
Previously, the Electric Union reported that they were able to connect the Electrical System from the province of Pinar del Rio to Guantánamo, which represents an important step towards the normalization of energy supply.
Unit 8 of the CTE in Mariel (Artemisa) was also synchronized, contributing to the increase in electricity generation. For its part, unit 5 of the Artemisa thermoelectric plant is in the process of being started up, and it is expected that during the early morning of Monday, two more units will be synchronized in Santa Cruz del Norte.
