CORPOELEC installed high-power equipment to strengthen the electrical system in Portuguesa

The National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC), in coordination with the State security forces, installed a 300 MVA autotransformer in the 400 kV Portuguese Substation, located in the municipality of Páez, after a land transfer of more than 35 hours that required road infrastructure adjustments.
The team of specialized engineers and technicians developed the operational protocol for the commissioning of high-power equipment, which allows the optimization of voltage profiles in the transmission system lines that interconnect the states of Barinas, Portuguesa, Táchira, Mérida, Trujillo and the Alto Apure region.
Specialized tasks include the process of placing the autotransformer on the support plate, the assembly of components and accessories, and the treatment of dielectric oil.
Subsequently, the technical staff performed the insulation tests, the calibration of electrical protections and the required functional evaluations prior to energizing the unit.
