Compañía Nacional de Danza will present Christmas Gala in Caracas

The National Dance Company will present in Caracas the show “And the Stars Shone”, inspired by texts by the poet Aquiles Nazoa, which will represent Venezuelan Christmas events, at the Teresa Carreño Theater cultural complex in Caracas.
According to information from Venezolana de Televisión, the Christmas gala will take place in the José Félix Ribas room of the aforementioned theater, on Saturday, November 23 at 3:00 in the afternoon and Sunday 24 in a double batch, at 11:00 in the morning and 3:00 in the afternoon.
This piece, under the stage direction of the choreographer, dancer and actor Miguel Issa, brings together more than 60 artists on stage including dancers, musicians and actors who will offer parties, aguinaldos, bagpipes, proclamations, blows, refrains and carols, according to information from the National Company.
The story recreates a scenario that simulates a common street in Venezuela, where friends and family members will party and celebrate the Child Jesus, together with traditions such as the Giros of San Benito, Zaragoza in the state of Lara, Gaita de tambora, Chimbangles and the Merengue Caraqueño, Shepherds of El Limón, Drums de Falcón, Negritas de Mucuchí, the song of Paradura del Niño, among others.
The staging will be performed by the traditional and contemporary casts of the dance company, and the theatrical performances by Adolfo Nitoli and Angélica Rinaldi.
