Community Surgical Plan has carried out 2,990 surgeries in 19 days

A total of
2,90 surgeries have been carried out during 19 days of the Community
Surgical Plan, carried out in eight municipalities in the states of Lara,
Portuguesa, Apure and Trujillo, as reported by the web portal of the newspaper Última Noticias.
According to the publication, the surgical days
began in September and have benefited 1,120 community members who were
recruited in August during a survey and characterization of health cases in the communal territories.
The cases treated include removal of
gallbladder and kidney stones, removal of soft tissue tumors, hernia surgery and
prolapse correction. “All cases
had a preliminary medical evaluation and preoperative tests for their
completion,” the diary reported.
It was also known that this program
currently covers the areas of general surgery, urology, pediatrics and gynecology.
