On the occasion of the working visit of the delegation of the province of Quang Nam of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, headed by the second secretary of the provisional committee of the Communist Party and president of the People's Council, Nguyen Duc Dung, it was offered this Thursday to the Liberator Simon Bolivar at the National Pantheon in Caracas.

The Deputy Minister for Asia, the Middle East and Oceania of the Ministry of People's Power for Foreign Affairs, Tatiana Pugh, and the deputy to the National Assembly, Julio Chávez, accompanied Duc Dung during the solemn ceremony, who attended together with the Vietnam ambassador to Venezuela, Vu Trung My and the rest of the Asian delegation.

The parties ratified the bonds of brotherhood and cooperation that have united them since December 18, 1989, when diplomatic relations were officially established. However, fraternity between the parties was forged years ago in the midst of the war of liberation and unification of Hanoi in 1964.

This visit commemorates the 60th anniversary of Operation Nguyen Van Troi, carried out in 1964, with the objective of saving the life of the Vietnamese revolutionary Nguyen Van Troi, who is remembered in Vietnam as a symbol of resistance to American colonialism and for the struggle for independence.

Operation Nguyen Van Troi is an example of international solidarity between Venezuela and Vietnam for the struggle of oppressed peoples for their liberation, in addition to reflecting the deep indignation caused by the US intervention in Vietnam and the sympathy that existed in many countries for the Vietnamese cause.

Since the visit of Commander Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías to Vietnam in 2006, the undisputed political empathy and multisectoral cooperation between the two republics has been consolidated at the highest level, as a result of the geostrategic vision marked by the construction of a multicentric and multipolar world.

This vision is continued by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, who has followed the path of cooperation, dialogue and mutual respect with Vietnam, thanks to inalienable principles, such as independence, sovereignty and peace, which have led to the conclusion of bilateral cooperation agreements in different areas.

Caracas and Hanoi frequently hold meetings and exchanges, including visits from high-level leaders of both peoples, whose libertarian struggles have been guided by great world figures, such as Ho Chi Minh and Simon Bolivar.
