On December 3, 2011, the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez, from the Courtyard of Honor of the Military Academy, reminded Eva and Juan Perón of the overwhelming need for unity in the midst of imperial plans.

“Perón said -I was remembering Juan Domingo Perón-, the 21st century, either united or dominated, so we have to bet our lives, everything, on this path that is beginning today, our community,” said Commander Chávez.

He also called for our differences to “demand other centers of power in the world, because we have to configure ourselves as a center of global power, united we can do it, a geopolitical center of power, neoeconomic, all of Latin America and the Caribbean; whatever potential, demand respect”.

In the historical framework of the dominant pretensions of imperialism against Venezuela and the repeated interference, he recalled that “the Venezuelan extreme right, supported by the United States, the CIA, infiltrated some paramilitaries, more than 200, unfortunately Colombians, and here they were in Caracas, on a farm outside Caracas training to go and take over the Miraflores Palace in the uniform of Venezuelan Army.

“Fortunately, we captured them without firing a shot, they were imprisoned here like two years later I pardoned them, some minors, killed each other, some who escaped from where they were and killed, chopped them to pieces and buried them there, but that was the plan, to cause a death here.”

In this context, he stressed that the plan was to justify the intervention in Venezuela, “more or less the plan that worked in Libya and 200 billion dollars of international reserves were stolen from Libya, let someone say where are those 200 billion dollars that Libya had in European and North American banks, which were not Gaddafi's, were Libya's international reserves, that's the biggest brazenness”.
