Commander Chávez: The right only seeks to manipulate the military to use and discard them

On June 9, 2002, the Leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez Frías, emphasized that the right wing always seeks to manipulate the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to use it and then discard it, highlighting the concept that these sectors used in the Fourth Republic.

“They're going to forgive me, but I'm going to use the word as it is, it's very crude, but it reflects a lot of the low feelings of those who intend to manipulate some unwary and naive people, but, finally, the figure used to talk about the soldiers they could confuse for the April 11 coup, was the figure of the condom, that's what they called them: 'Well, these are condoms, we use them and we throw them away. ' And that is historically the puntofixist concept of the Armed Forces, the old politicians of Venezuela, of the 20th century, always saw us in the military something like that: 'We are going to use them, well, we are going to use them'”, said the Commander during his program Aló Presidente No. 107 carried out in the state of Zulia.

For this reason, Chávez lamented how some comrades “got into the coup adventure, trying to deceive the military, and unfortunately brothers in arms some of them made them dizzy and used them as rag dolls”.

He also reaffirmed, using as an example, that today revolutionary soldiers are rising up in defense of the Homeland and are due to the interests of the People. “We are raising the interests of the people, the interests of the nation, the interests of the Republic, those sectors, of conspirators and coup plotters, they defend bastard interests, anti-national interests, they don't mind selling their country to the highest bidder, they don't care at all,” he said.
