The president of the Legal Commission for Monitoring Intelligence and Counterintelligence Activities of the Colombian Congress, Senator Antonio Correa, reported that the Pegasus spy virus was purchased by Iván Duque with the objective of destabilizing progressive governments, such as those of presidents Nicolás Maduro and Gustavo Petro.

Pegasus seeks to destabilize progressive governments by intercepting communications,” he emphasized.

Duque acquired this virus manufactured in Israel in 2021 for 11 million dollars thanks to drug trafficking and money laundering.

“It is essential that we come together to face this threat and protect the stability of our governments,” Correa emphasized.

This statement was supported by a report from the UIAF (Financial Information and Analysis Unit), which warned about the massive violation of the privacy of citizens and public officials, according to the Venezuela News website.
