On Monday, the Office of the Counseling Commissioner for Peace (OCCP) reported that the 5th Cycle of Peace Dialogues with the dissidents of the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC) of the Central General Staff (EMC) is scheduled to take place in Bogotá (capital) between June 20 and 26.

The announcement comes after confirming the division of the EMC into two groups: the most belligerent, led by “Iván Mordisco”, which is unleashing a wave of violence, especially in Cauca and in the south of the country, and a smaller one that is still on the table.

The aggressive group has carried out several attacks on police stations and military objectives in the department of Cauca, so the Government has launched an offensive against them, while negotiations with the second group seem to be resuming and the ceasefire is still in force with them.
