The vice-president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Carlos Quintero, reported that this Friday the installation of the polling stations for the elections of Community Judges and Justices of the Peace to be held next Sunday, December 15, and announced that the process is expected to end at the end of this afternoon.

In telephone contact with La Noticia de Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), Quintero indicated that these tables are distributed throughout the country, among 4,118 voting centers. “The installation is a process that is done with the members of the board and the electoral commission of each communal circuit,” he explained.

He pointed out that 4,862 community circuits will elect their judges, made up of 43,586 communal councils, and stressed that everyone over 15 years of age, when presenting their valid or expired identity card, can vote for up to three candidates, by writing the three numbers of a candidate of their choice on the ballot.

“With a formed commission, we are going to scan the images of the minutes so that the electoral commission can verify the results for Monday, to make the proclamation of all the justices of the peace,” he said, in addition to noting the presence of alternates.

Quintero recalled that December 15 marks the 25th anniversary of the popular referendum that led to the current Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, so the communal elections would serve as a gift that “all public authorities have made a great effort to materialize.”

He indicated that more than 52 thousand candidates applied, and that the voting centers can be located by consulting the website of the Ministry of Communes, where interested parties can locate their center by state, municipality and parish.
