This week, the Project Study Commission (CEP) of the National Autonomous Center for Cinematography (CNAC) was installed, responsible for evaluating film projects submitted by filmmakers from all over the country who answered the call of the 2024 Call for the Stimulus and Promotion Program.

The new commission is preparing to begin the evaluation process, once the reception period corresponding to the first cutoff of the Call ends on June 28.

This Commission, which will be governed by the provisions of the Internal Regulations for the Encouragement and Promotion of Cinematographic Creation and Production (RIEFCPC), is constituted by Herry Herrera, delegate of the National Association of Cinematographic Authors (ANAC); Luis Carlos Hueck, representative of the Chamber of Industry and Video; Carlos Tabares for the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture; Ignacio Márquez of the CNAC; Douglas Palumbo, Association of the Film Industry (ASOINCI); Andrea Guverneur, National Film Foundation and William Goite for the Venezuelan Chamber of Feature Film Producers (CAVEPROL).

Since the reactivation of the Stimulus and Promotion program three years ago, 151 projects have received financial support from the CNAC.

Carlos Azpúrua, president of the institution attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, referred to the need to continue to energize the film production process in the country and specified the scope of the call, which “incorporates the modality of minority co-production of feature films, to expand funding opportunities for our filmmakers.”
