The National Agrarian Coordinator (CNA) categorically rejected the enactment of Decree 1525 of 2026 by the Government of Abelardo de la Espriella, denouncing that the amendment to the previous regulations seeks to curb the organized action of rural communities and deepen political persecution in the New Granada country.
According to information highlighted in Telesur, the peasant platform warned that the government administration uses the pretext of the fight against terrorism to arbitrarily link social and popular movements with activities outside the law, violating fundamental rights to mobilization.
Faced with the repressive onslaught and attempts at state stigmatization, the agrarian organization confirmed its position of struggle by proclaiming that “popular organization is not terrorism. Social protest is not a crime”, making an urgent call for the unity of the working class and the peasantry in the streets.
The CNA statement adds to the rejection of various trade union, student and political sectors that face the authoritarian turn of the Colombian Executive, consolidating a common front in defense of social conquests and freedom of peaceful demonstration.
