In order to strengthen the national investment promotion and facilitation ecosystem, they signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the International Center for Productive Investment (CIIP) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), to attract capital to promote productive diversification and sustainable development in the country.

In this regard, the president of the CIIP, Alejandro Puglia, and the resident representative of UNDP in Venezuela, Luis Francisco Thais Santa Cruz, signed the agreement.

The report states that strategic priorities, agendas and work plans for cooperation will be defined, in line with national priorities for economic and social development.

UNDP will act as a technical partner, with an approach focused on knowledge transfer and the consolidation of its own capacities in national institutions, so that results are sustainable.

With this alliance, the CIIP and UNDP will promote actions aimed at exchanging knowledge, strengthening institutions, promoting good international practices and identifying opportunities that contribute to improving the environment for investment and sustainable economic growth in the country.

“Investment follows trust, and trust is built with quality information, with well-structured projects and with institutions capable of accompanying them,” said Thais Santa Cruz.

He stressed that “we will work together with the CIIP, under its leadership, providing what UNDP has learned in more than 170 countries. Our purpose is that the capacities are installed here, and that each investment leaves more than capital in Venezuela: employment, added value and opportunities in the territories.”
