CICPC officials were certified after passing an advanced ballistics course

These officials will contribute to the fight against crime

80 officials of the Criminal and Criminal Scientific Investigations Corps (CICPC) were accredited after having successfully passed 120 academic hours of the First Advanced Ballistics Course.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace, the officials of the Ballistics Division and the Municipal Criminal Investigations Delegations of the scientific police, during the training, had the opportunity to deepen the scientific study of the characteristic elements of the projectiles found at the site of the event, as well as techniques to determine with which firearm he was struck.

They also gained greater knowledge on topics such as: generalities of criminalism and its pillars, types of evidence, firearms, parts and manufacturing, ammunition, expertise and legal aspects; as well as ballistic comparison, identification and individualization elements, comparison of projectiles, comparison of shells or scabbards.

It should be noted that the development of these actions aims to strengthen the scientific knowledge of officials who are experts in ballistic comparison.
