Members of the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigations Corps (CICPC), after several months of investigation, apprehended a group of criminals dedicated to defrauding users of the Bank of Venezuela, through false portals.

The arrests, as reported by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN), were made in the state of Táchira. Among those captured is a child under 15 years of age.

Freddy Bernal, governor of the state of Táchira, explained that criminals sent false links for people to enter and through those pages they received their accounts and stole the money that later went to electronic wallets, making it almost impossible to determine who was behind the whole scam.

“It could be that we locate people located in other countries, but this is concrete, the heart of the international cybercrime network that had hit so many people hard was dismantled,” he said.
