Officials from the Criminal and Criminal Scientific Investigations Corps (CICPC) practiced capturing subjects who incited a young woman to perform a challenge through social networks that led her to set fire to her body in the state of Zulia.

This was reported by the director of the CICPC, Douglas Rico, who explained from his user on the social network Instagram that the research work was carried out by officials of the municipal delegation of San Francisco in the state of Zulia after a young woman set herself on fire through a “live” broadcast made from Tik Tok. As explained by the senior police officer, the young woman was challenged in exchange for a gift, which would translate into money and which turned out to be a deception.

The victim is a 23-year-old woman who was celebrating her birthday and who has a visual, musculoskeletal and neurological disability. She was deceived by Enderver Jesús Villasmil Montiel (26), a 16-year-old girl, who are in detention and by MaryElena Peña Villasmil (22), who is still being sought.

The above-mentioned trio, under deception and using the victim's vulnerable situation, challenged him to set fire to his clothes in exchange for a gift of money. The victim agreed to carry out the challenge, leaving the flames out of control and leaving 75% of second and third degree burns on his skin that keep him under medical supervision. The case was brought to the order of the Prosecutor's Office 46 for common crimes, sixth and 31 with competence in the adolescent criminal system.
