CICPC apprehended six individuals for the theft of strategic CANTV material in El Junquito

of the Criminal and Criminal Scientific Investigations Corps
(CICPC) were able to arrest six people for the theft of strategic
material from CANTV in El Junquito.
According to information issued by the telecommunications company, the
arrest occurred during a joint operation between CICPC officials
and CANTV personnel, carried out in the La Vaquera sector, kilometer
3 of the highway via El Junquito, in the Sucre parish of Caracas.
In
the procedure, approximately 300 kilograms of
processed copper were seized, in addition to tools and equipment allegedly used to
steal strategic material from CANTV's underground tanks and pipes.
“As
part of the investigations, the authorities also identified a scrap metal
facility that allegedly functioned as a center for the
collection and sale of the stolen material,” the company reported.
