The workforce of the Foundation for Training and Innovation to Support the Agrarian Revolution (Ciara), an entity attached to the Ministry of Popular Power of Urban Agriculture (Minppau), began the agenda to celebrate the 58th anniversary of its founding with a Thanksgiving Mass, officiated by Fr. Luis Molina, which included the participation of directors, technicians and administrative staff who live in the Torre Bellas Artes in Caracas.

Subsequently, in the Bolivar 1 Organoponic Center, a productive circle was carried out with retired and active staff within the Foundation, as well as grandmothers and grandparents of the parish of La Candelaria; and the knowledge of the Ciara Press employees was certified, together with the Popular University of the Fruto Vivas Environment (UPAFV).

As part of these anniversary activities, Saúl Osío Pedret, Deputy Minister of Training and Agrourban Culture, recognized the commendable work carried out by the Ciarist workforce in favor of Venezuelan producer families -both in the countryside and in cities and peri-urban areas-, through training plans, technical assistance and socio-productive support, aimed at creating a new culture of production and consumption with an agroecological vision.

Deputy Minister Osío highlighted the principles of this institution, among which its agricultural, ecological, humanist objectives stand out and guarantee health, sovereignty and food security for the people according to the 5th objective of the Homeland Plan and the 6th ecological transformation.

“We must preserve the environment, our hydrological basins and the quality of life of the human being. This year we are experiencing droughts and the phenomenon of 'La Niña'. The knowledge that Ciara has brought to soil and water management, seed rescue, various techniques for medicinal and food cultivation, animal husbandry; all this knowledge has been accumulated in these 58 years. It will therefore be at the disposal of this objective, which President Nicolás Maduro has urged. Let us always remember that to produce is to win!” , said Osío.

On the other hand, the general director of the Ciara Foundation, Suleima Parra Monsalve, praised the initiative taken by the National Government and Minister Jhoanna Carrillo, to incorporate the adults and older adults of the country and the organized communities of the dot and circle, to activate the planting plan, since it is an act of social inclusion and valuing plants for life, health, food and the ambience of spaces.

However, he took the opportunity to vindicate the work of the printing workers of the Ciara Foundation, located in San Martín, and on this 58th anniversary to recognize their selfless work. “Their titanic work must be enhanced. Every time an emergency is needed, they are 100% active. My respects and congratulations,” Parra added.

Glenda Vivas, coordinator of Organoponic Bolivar 1, shared her knowledge in planting medicinal plants such as oregano, oregano, oregano and malojillo, to the adults and older adults present there, explaining the step by step and the medicinal sources they have.

“I love being here. I congratulate this work team who attend to us and let us know a lot of things about planting,” said Magda Vegas, who received an invitation from the Teñidero Community Council of Candelaria, to participate in these activities.

Mireya Medina, a resident of Urdaneta Avenue, greeted the Ciara Foundation in its 58-year history. “These are special moments when an institution celebrates its anniversary and they promote activities in favor of the formation and planting of plants. This motivates us to plant in our homes, balconies, spaces reclaimed by the community; and it's a matter of putting your creativity into practice. This is wonderful,” he said.
